Writing the Villain You Pity
The most interesting antagonists are the ones who think they're the hero.
Every villain has a wound. Find it, and you find the scene that explains everything without explaining anything.
Pity is not forgiveness. The audience can understand a character completely and still want them stopped. That tension is the engine of drama.
